Wind is actually a form of solar energy. Winds are created by various factors: the uneven heating of the atmosphere, the rotation of the earth and irregularities in its surface. Good news for small wind turbine owners in the U.S.: owners of small wind systems with a capacity of up to 100 kilowatts (kW) may receive a credit for 30% of the total installed cost of the system (up to $4,000).
